What is Wifi required?
In short
Wifi required tells you whether a monitor only works when it is connected to your home wifi network.
Wifi required means a monitor sends its feed over a network rather than on its own direct link. A monitor that needs wifi gives you sound and picture anywhere in the house, and also outside it if you set the app up for that. The trade-off is that the feed is only as good as your network, and a locked-down or missing wifi can leave you with no feed at all.
None of the listed brands need one here. ADC Solutions Auto, Amazon, Arenti, babelio and Baby Monitor Direct each state that wifi is not required, so you can set the monitor up away from the router. Weigh that against monitor type, since a smart monitor that runs on an app can behave differently from a video monitor with its own screen.
