What is Load leg or rebound bar?

In short

A load leg, also called a rebound bar, is a bar fitted low across a car seat base to stop the seat tipping forward in a crash.

A load leg, also called a rebound bar, is a bar fitted low across the foot end of a car seat base. It stops the seat from tipping forward towards the vehicle seat back if the shell is not properly tightened. On our comparison, AXKID, Baby Jogger, Baby Trend, Britax and Bugaboo all state that they include one, so this is no longer a useful way to separate them. Check that the leg is correctly positioned and tightened for every seat and every install, since a fitted bar only helps if it is set properly. The feature says nothing about crash performance on its own.
