What is Hip healthy?
In short
A carrier or wrap designed to hold a baby with the hips spread and knees bent rather than dangling straight, which suits newborn hips.
Hip healthy describes a carrier, wrap or sling designed to support a baby with the hips spread wide and the knees bent, rather than letting the legs hang straight down. Newborn hips are still soft and cartilage-rich, so position matters for comfort and development. ARTIPOPPE, Baby K'tan, Baby Plus and BabyBjorn all describe their carriers as hip healthy. Bc Babycare does not make that claim. The label is a starting point only, so check sizing for your baby's weight and stage, and how the carrier adjusts as they grow.
