Carrier types describe how a carrier is built and worn. A soft structured carrier has padded shoulder straps and buckles, a wrap uses a length of fabric, a ring sling loops through two rings, and a hip seat sits on one hip with a seat for the baby. BabyBjorn lists soft structured, while ARTIPOPPE lists soft structured, wrap and ring sling. The type decides how much wrapping skill and adjustment you need.
