Pros and cons

Pros

  • Wifi is not required, so the monitor runs on its own signal rather than a home network
  • A parent unit is included, so the feed does not depend on a phone
  • Range of 365.76 m covers more of a home than many baby monitors
  • Local storage is supported, so clips can sit on the unit
  • Entry price of €34.99 sits below Arenti at $100 and iBaby at $65.95

Cons

  • Support runs on email, chat and help centre only, with no phone line listed
  • Resolution of 720p is the lower tier against rivals offering higher tiers
  • Range ranks 5 of 16 on range, so reach is a middling draw
  • The catalogue is listed for US and CA only, which narrows where it runs

Where it sits among rivals

Chillax Technology is cheap at entry. It prices from €34.99, and that puts it at rank 3 of 25 on price from across the brands on this page. Hubble Connected starts at £24.99, so it remains the cheapest way in, while iBaby begins at $65.95 and Arenti at $100, both well clear of Chillax. On signal reach the picture is less flattering. The stated range of 365.76 m places it at rank 5 of 16 on range, which puts it in the middle of the field rather than near the top. Read together, the ranking says the same thing: strong value on the ticket, ordinary on reach.

What it does well

The set that matters most for a nursery is already here. A parent unit is included, so the picture lands on a screen in the house instead of only on a phone. Wifi is not required, which means the link between the camera and the parent unit does not lean on the home router, a plus in rooms where coverage is thin. Range is listed at 365.76 m, enough to carry signal across a home and into adjoining rooms. Local storage is supported, so recordings can sit on the monitor itself rather than living only in a cloud account. Together those four points cover the basics that parents ask about first, and the monitor type is smart rather than a plain audio unit.

Who runs it

Chillax Technology is backed by Chillax Care Limited, the legal entity named in the terms and conditions, and it is headquartered in the US. The catalogue is listed for US and CA, so buying is framed around the US and Canada rather than a wider global market. Support runs on email, chat and help centre, which covers written routes rather than a phone line. For buyers who want a company with a clear legal name and a home market, that is enough to work with; for anyone who prefers to pick up the phone, the support mix is the weaker side.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Chillax monitor need wifi to work?+

No. Wifi is not required, so the monitor runs on its own link between the camera and the parent unit. That suits rooms where the router signal is weak, or households that would rather keep the monitor off the network entirely. It is the reason this brand shows up in wifi free comparisons.

Is a parent unit included in the box?+

Yes, a parent unit is included. You get a screen in the house rather than relying on a phone for the feed, which is convenient at night and avoids draining a handset battery. The monitor type is smart, so the unit handles more than plain audio.

How much does a Chillax baby monitor cost?+

The entry price is €34.99, which is where the brand ranks 3 of 25 on price from. For comparison, Hubble Connected starts at £24.99, Arenti at $100 and iBaby at $65.95. Chillax sits among the lowest entry prices in the field.

How far does the signal reach?+

Range is listed at 365.76 m, and that figure puts Chillax at rank 5 of 16 on range. That is a middle position, fine for a house and its adjoining rooms, though not the longest reach in the market. Buyers moving a camera between floors may want to check their own layout.

Can I record clips without a cloud account?+

Local storage is supported, so recordings can be kept on the monitor itself. That means clips do not have to live only in an online account, and you keep them on hardware in the home. Resolution for the video feed is 720p, which is the lower tier offered in this category.

How do I get help from Chillax?+

Support runs on email, chat and help centre, which is email, chat and a help centre. There is no phone line listed, so if you prefer to talk something through with a person, plan on writing instead. The help centre is the route most likely to hold setup steps.

Which countries does Chillax sell monitors in?+

The catalogue is listed for US and CA. That covers the US and Canada, so buyers elsewhere may find shipping and warranty awkward. The company behind the brand is Chillax Care Limited, headquartered in the US, which matches the main market served.
