Our verdict

Chicco suits parents building a whole kit in a single market, from a lie-flat stroller through car seats to a bedside crib, without juggling brands. The range covers the gear most families buy in one place, and the listed warranty is 3 years on the stroller.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • The car seat range covers infant, convertible and all in one seat types, so one supplier spans the infant seat through to the booster.
  • Car seats take an Isofix latch, the seats rotate, and the listed standards are r129 and fmvss 213.
  • The bedside crib converts to toddler bed, so one frame covers the newborn months and the toddler stage, and a mattress is included.
  • The stroller has a lie flat seat, weighs 7.6 kg and takes a child to 22 kg.

Cons

  • Support runs on email and help centre only, with no phone line or live chat listed.
  • The listed carrier is not machine washable; its hip healthy rating is a no as well.
  • The stroller range lists compact and travel, with no full-size or double option where Evenflo Company lists full size, compact and travel.
  • Smart features are a no on the listed bedside crib; rental option is a no across the crib range too.

Who it suits

  • Parents who want one supplier across the journey: a lie flat seat stroller, infant, convertible and all in one seat types and cribs that convert to toddler bed.
  • Anyone buying inside a single market, since the company is based in the United Kingdom and its terms are written for that market.
  • Carrier shoppers who need newborn support without an insert, with a 3.4-15 kg child weight range and a 58-117 cm waist fit.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Parents after a full-size or double stroller: Evenflo Company lists full size, compact and travel where Chicco lists compact and travel.
  • Shoppers who want a travel system in the range, since Kids2Shop lists full size, compact and travel.
  • Anyone after a double wagon, where Harppa Baby lists double and the Chicco stroller range carries none of that shape.

Core features

Weight, seat limit and cover are the three numbers worth holding on to. The listed weight is 7.6 kg, heavier than the lightest frames in this category but still manageable for a parent lifting it alone. The seat takes a child to 22 kg, so the same stroller covers the newborn stage and the toddler years after it instead of forcing an early replacement. The listed warranty is 3 years, which matters most for the parts that work hardest: hinges, wheels and the fold. Buyers comparing strollers tend to check all three in this order, because a light frame with a low seat limit costs more over the years than it saves on the day.

Plans and prices

These are product prices rather than plans, so the two figures that matter are the entry point and the top of the range. The stroller range in the UK starts at £99.90 and runs to £99.90. There is no renewal charge to plan around: a Chicco kit is the sum of its product prices, paid once per item, rather than a figure that changes at the end of a term. Parents placing one order for a stroller and a car seat should set the budget from the higher of those numbers rather than the lower, and add a crib and carrier on top only if the second bedroom has space for them.

How it compares on our data

On our data the entry price ranks 11 of 43 brands, while the top of the range ranks 3 of 41. The distance between those two positions is the useful part. Chicco is not the cheapest way into the category, but the upper end of the range sits near the front, so a full kit does not push the budget up at the top the way the entry rank alone might suggest. On weight, the listed figure ranks 24 of 42, in the middle of the field rather than at the light end.

The company behind it

The UK entity behind the store is R K Wholesale Limited, with a base in GB and a range listed for a single market. Support runs on email and help centre, which is email and a help center, with no phone line or live chat in that list. For a brand this broad, that shapes the experience after the sale, because questions about a car seat, a crib and a stroller all arrive through the same written channels, and a parent comparing a specific part is the one who feels it most.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Chicco stroller cost?+

The stroller range opens at £99.90 and the listed top price is £99.90. There is no plan or subscription to renew, so the figure shown is what a single purchase costs. Delivery information and terms are published by the UK entity, R K Wholesale Limited, which is worth reading before a large order.

Does Chicco sell car seats for every stage?+

The range covers infant, convertible and all in one seat types, with rear facing limits listed as 30 lbs and 32 in rear-facing (KeyFit Max) and a child weight limit of 45.36 kg. An Isofix latch is available and the seats rotate, so a rear facing infant seat can be swivelled in place rather than unbolted at every journey.

Is Chicco sold outside the UK?+

The UK store lists GB as the market it serves, and the company behind it is based in the United Kingdom. Buying from another country means checking delivery coverage for your own address first, since the published terms and conditions cover a single market.

How heavy is the Chicco stroller and what can it carry?+

The listed weight is 7.6 kg and the seat takes a child up to 22 kg. The seat is a lie flat seat, so a newborn can start out lying flat, and the same frame keeps going once the child moves past the earliest stage. The listed warranty is 3 years.

Do Chicco cribs come with a mattress?+

A mattress is included with the bedside crib listed, and the dimensions given are W38 x L74.5 x H2.8cm. The crib converts to toddler bed, so the same piece covers the newborn months and the toddler stage. Rental option is a no and smart features are a no, so nothing sits inside the sleep space.

Can I get help from Chicco by phone?+

Support runs on email and help centre, so help is by email and through a help center rather than a call line. The help center covers account and order questions, with email taking the rest. If a hinge, wheel or seat part fails, the written channel is the first route for a fault.

Are Chicco baby carriers hip healthy and washable?+

The carrier range is soft structured, with 4 positions, a child weight range of 3.4-15 kg and a 58-117 cm waist fit. A newborn fits without an insert. Hip healthy is a no and machine washable is a no, so parents wanting both should compare other carriers.

What is the returns window on a Chicco order?+

A money back period of 30 days is listed on the product page shown, so gear can be tried at home and returned inside that window. Returns are handled by the UK entity, R K Wholesale Limited, whose terms and conditions set out the process and what condition the item needs to be in.
